What brow lamination is
Brow lamination is a treatment that relaxes your natural brow hairs so they can be brushed into a new direction and set there. Hairs that grow downwards, curl or stick out are lifted and laid flat against the skin, usually upwards and slightly outwards. The brows look fuller and more even, using only the hair you already have.
It is sometimes described as a perm for the brows, and the idea is similar. A first lotion softens the bonds inside each hair. The hairs are brushed into the new shape, and a second lotion fixes them there. Nothing is implanted and no pigment goes into the skin, so the effect simply grows out with your hair.
You can wear the result two ways. Brushed straight up, it gives the fluffy look many clients ask for. Brushed along the natural line, it reads as a neat, groomed brow that needs very little attention in the morning.
Who brow lamination is for
Lamination suits most people whose brows have hair but lack order. It usually works well for:
- unruly or wiry hairs that will not stay where you brush them;
- hairs that grow downwards or in different directions;
- small gaps that can be covered by redirecting the hair next to them;
- fine brows that look thin, because lifted hairs show more of their length;
- anyone who uses brow gel every day and would like to stop.
Honest about what your brows allow. Lamination rearranges the hair you have. It cannot create hair where there is none. If your gaps are wide or your brows are very sparse, we tell you before we start. In that case TrichoBrows Stimulation, our brow hair growth treatment, or a semi-permanent option such as microblading may suit you better.
Lamination is usually not recommended when the skin around the brows is irritated, broken or sunburnt, when there is eczema or an infection in the area, or shortly after a peel or the use of retinoids and exfoliating acids on the forehead. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or your brows had a semi-permanent treatment recently, tell us before your appointment and we will advise.
How brow lamination is done, step by step
The appointment is booked as a one-hour slot and you lie comfortably on the treatment bed throughout. A brow lamination usually follows these steps:
- Consultation and brow analysisYour specialist looks at your brows first: gaps, thickness, the direction the hair grows and any difference between the two sides. Then we ask how you like your brows and whether you have a reference photo.
- Agreeing the lookWe explain what lamination can do on your brows and agree the direction and finish with you, from soft and natural to fully brushed up. We only start when you say yes.
- CleansingThe brows are cleaned so no make-up, oil or skincare is left on the hair.
- Lifting lotionThe first lotion is applied to the hairs and left to work for a few minutes. It softens them so they can be moved. The timing depends on how fine or coarse your hair is.
- Brushing into placeThe hairs are combed into the agreed direction, and both sides are checked against each other.
- Setting lotionA second lotion fixes the hairs in their new position.
- Shaping and finishingThe brows are shaped and tidied so the lamination sits on the right line, and a conditioning product is usually applied to put moisture back into the hair. You see the result in the mirror and leave with your aftercare advice.

Before and after your appointment
Before
Come with clean brows and no brow make-up if you can. In the days before, it is sensible to keep retinoids, exfoliating acids and self-tan away from the brow area, and to avoid sunburn. If you have sensitive skin or have reacted to a hair or lash product before, tell us when you book.
After
Keep your brows dry for the first 24 hours: no water, steam or make-up on them, so the result sets properly. That also means skipping the sauna, a very hot shower and a hard workout that day. Try not to rub the area or sleep face down on the first night.
From the second day, brush your brows into place each morning. That is usually all they need. Laminated hair can feel a little dry, so a small amount of a nourishing brow oil or conditioner in the evening helps to keep it soft. Give strong skincare on the brow area a few days' rest.
A little redness straight after the treatment is normal and usually settles within a few hours. If you notice irritation that does not settle, message us.
Planning a facial too? Have your facial first or on a different day. We can advise you when you book.
How long brow lamination lasts
Results usually last around six to eight weeks, depending on your hair and how you look after it. The effect does not stop from one day to the next. Brow hairs shed and are replaced a few at a time, and each new hair grows in its natural direction, so the lamination softens gradually.
Most clients repeat the treatment once the brows have mostly gone back to their usual pattern. It is better not to laminate too often, because hair that is processed again too soon can become dry and brittle. Your specialist will tell you when your brows are ready for the next one.
Between laminations, eyebrow threading keeps the outline clean while the lamination holds the hairs in place.
When brows need more hair: TrichoBrows Stimulation
TrichoBrows Stimulation is a different treatment, for brows that are sparse or have stopped growing in places.
It works in a similar way to microneedling for the skin. Very fine needles are passed over the brow area together with a serum developed by pharmacist Brenda Cammo. The aim is to wake up the hair follicles and help the serum reach them, with extra attention to the areas where growth is weak.
The appointment takes 30 minutes, costs €50 and is available at our Swieqi salon. Hair growth is slow and differs from person to person, so results cannot be promised, and the number of sessions depends on your brows.
If you are pregnant, or the skin around your brows is irritated or broken, tell us before your appointment and we will advise.
Why have it done by brow specialists
Lamination is a brow treatment, and brows are what BeCammo was built on. The salon was founded by Brenda Cammo, a Brazilian brow artist who has lived in Malta since 2019. She trained as a pharmacist before specialising in brows, and she opened the first salon in Malta fully dedicated to eyebrows. That background is why method, hygiene and skin safety come first in how the team works. In 2025 she was named Top Brow Trainer at the International Beauty Awards in Barcelona.
What that means for your lamination:
- Analysis first. We look at your hair and your skin before any product is opened.
- Your approval before we start. You know what the result can and cannot be, and nothing begins until you agree.
- Clean set-up for every client. Fresh disposable paper on the bed and on the work surface, tools disinfected with 70% alcohol, and specialists working with a mask, hair tied back and clean hands.
One method, the whole team. Our brow specialists are trained in the method Brenda Cammo created, so the analysis, the approval step and the hygiene rules are the same whoever you book.
Lamination is available in both salons, so you can choose whichever is closer to you. If your lashes need the same kind of help, a lash lift works on a similar principle.
Brow lamination, tint, TrichoBrows or microblading?
Four treatments that make brows look fuller, in four different ways. Which one fits depends on how much hair you have and how long you want the result to stay.
| Treatment | What it does | How long it usually lasts | Price at BeCammo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brow lamination | Redirects and sets your own hairs so the brows look fuller and stay in place | Around six to eight weeks | €50 |
| Tint or henna | Adds colour to the brow hairs so they look darker and denser. It does not change their direction | A few weeks, fading gradually | €17 |
| TrichoBrows Stimulation | Microneedling with a serum on the brow area, aimed at encouraging your own hair to grow where it is sparse | Varies from person to person, as it depends on hair growth | €50 (Swieqi) |
| Microblading | Semi-permanent pigment placed in the skin in fine, hair-like strokes. It can fill gaps where no hair grows | Much longer, but it fades over time and varies from person to person | €300, after a consultation (€15) |

Brow Lamination: questions clients ask
How much is brow lamination in Malta?
Brow lamination at BeCammo costs €50 and takes about one hour, in Sliema or in Swieqi, with a €20 deposit to secure your booking online. TrichoBrows Stimulation for brow hair growth also costs €50, at our Swieqi salon.
Does brow lamination hurt?
It should not hurt. Most clients feel nothing more than the lotions sitting on the brows, and some notice a mild tingle. If anything stings or feels uncomfortable, tell your specialist straight away.
How long does brow lamination last?
Usually around six to eight weeks, depending on your hair and your aftercare. The effect fades gradually as new brow hairs grow in.
Can I wet my brows after lamination?
Avoid water, steam and make-up on the brows for the first 24 hours so the result sets properly. After that you can wash your face as usual.
Does brow lamination work on thin brows or brows with gaps?
Often, yes. Lifting the hairs shows more of their length and can cover small gaps. It cannot create hair where there is none, so we tell you before we start what is realistic for your brows.
Can I get a facial before brow lamination?
Yes, but plan the facial first or on a different day. We can advise you when you book.
